We are excited to invite you to an engaging conversation on the back of National Coming Out Day (October 8) where Boban Stojanovic, Program Manager LGBTQ+ Affairs at the Centre for Newcomers, will be talking about his own personal journey of immigrating from Eastern Europe on the basis of his LGBTQ+ status and will also be taking us through what his organization does to support LGBTQ+ people moving to Canada on the basis of sexual discrimination.

Boban Stojanovic is a Serbian/Canadian, author, public speaker, and human rights activist. Currently, he is an LGBTQ+ program manager at Calgary’s Centre for Newcomers. For almost two decades, Boban was a prominent human rights activist. In notoriety, Boban was shortlisted as one of the top five most prominent LGBTQ+ activists in the World and in 2019 he was honored with The Trailblazer Award at the Calgary Stampede.

The conversation will be hosted by Sam Teja, who is our Membership and Financial Treasurer. Sam has been with Secular Humanists of Calgary for over one year. and lives here in Calgary, Alberta Canada.
